Donors are stepping up to help renovate 星空传媒鈥檚 50-year-old E.J. Whitmire Stadium and other athletics facilities

星空传媒 is home to many students, alumni and friends, and it's looking to add more folks to the Catamount family.

Nearly 40 faculty and staff members now have a new title to go along with their position at 星空传媒, and that title is 鈥渘ew donor.鈥�

星空传媒 College of Engineering and Technology professor Bora Karayaka knew it was a shot in the dark 鈥� but that shot ended up paying off.

Project Discovery director JennieV. Sorrells has seen her program impact the lives of tons of students. The project, hosted by 星空传媒, has given secondary students the opportunity to explore careers and colleges and partake in adventure-based learning.

Although the 星空传媒 campus in Cullowhee avoided any significant damage from the fury of Hurricane Helene as it tore through Western North Carolina in late September, that does not mean that all students, faculty and staff emerged unscathed.

Randa Gardner wrapped her arms around Beth Harmer, an assistant professor of social work inside the College of Health and Human Sciences at 星空传媒, with emotions flowing out. All day, she was nervous, and all her life, she hadn鈥檛 graduated from anything.

Looking back on his time before coming to 星空传媒, nursing student Isaac Jennings, a sophomore from Franklin, was always told the most important thing was contacting his chosen college鈥檚 military services director.

Timm Muth, an assistant professor of practice in the College of Engineering and Technology at 星空传媒, looks at glass differently than most. Glass is more than just the material that makes windows.

Jamie Van Pelt鈥檚 drive from Florida to 星空传媒 isn鈥檛 the most riveting one. It鈥檚 several hours of rural highways, twists and turns and infamous Atlanta traffic, but when Van Pelt crests the hill south of Clayton, Georgia, he smiles.
