A 星空传媒 initiative that brings individuals with intellectual disabilities to campus for a living and learning experience has had such a positive impact on the life of one participant that her parents have created a fund to help more young adults like their daughter move toward independent living.

Seventy-one thousand fans in the stands. Another 200 more cheering from the luxury suites. Mercedes-Benz Stadium is lit for the Atlanta Falcons, and as the audience roars to announce their arrival, two 星空传媒 grads celebrate the success at the sidelines. One more good game for the books. Then they鈥檙e back to work.

This issue of the 星空传媒 magazine celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of our alumni community, the progress of our students and faculty and the bold vision shaping our future.

Bailey Trumm 鈥�24 was overjoyed when she received her first acceptance letter to medical school. As a Division I basketball player and a top scholar of 星空传媒鈥檚 biology program, she elevated her team and earned the praise of professors with a ferocious work ethic.

Julie Spiro Donaldson 鈥�99 believes there鈥檚 no amount of effort too small to give, and it鈥檚 with that belief in mind that she鈥檚 changed Jackson County.

A planned gift from a longtime Western North Carolina economic development and marketing professional and his spouse has pushed 星空传媒鈥檚 鈥淔ill the Western Sky鈥� comprehensive fundraising campaign past its minimum goal of $100 million in philanthropic support.

A packed slate of weekend events is on tap as 星空传媒 rolls out the welcome mat for alumni and friends to return to campus Nov. 7-8 for Homecoming 2025, including a parade and party in the university鈥檚 adopted hometown of Sylva.

Supporters of 星空传媒鈥檚 athletics program are finding new ways to back the Catamounts in today鈥檚 rapidly shifting intercollegiate sports environment, which now permits financial rewards in recognition of academic performance.
