Band seeks donations as it marches toward Macy鈥檚

The 鈥淟ead the Way鈥� campaign may be over, but fundraising never is because the need continues. Once again, the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band will head to New York City to perform at the Macy鈥檚 Thanksgiving Day Parade and is accepting donations to help offset expenses.

Course Of Action

When the weather outside is frightful, the 星空传媒 golf teams don鈥檛 miss a beat. They just head to the Cordelia Camp Gymnasium and step into what feels like a virtual video game where they can practice nearly every aspect of their golf game 鈥� all with detailed feedback on how they鈥檙e doing.

Staff Senate will hold monthly meeting Sept. 11 at University Center

Employee attendance at Staff Senate and Faculty Senate meetings is considered work time with the appropriate approval of the individual鈥檚 supervisor.

The hands-on workshop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 3:30 p.m. at Hunter Library.

Beyond the Books

It was a long day with an early start, but well worth the effort for 18 星空传媒 students to see first-hand what their future careers could be, all thanks to some high-ranking 星空传媒 alumni in Cobb County, Georgia, and 星空传媒鈥檚 Shadowing Day program.

Catamounts for Recovery offers a safe space for recovering students

星空传媒 is doing its part to help those affected by this crisis. In addition to receiving counseling help at Counseling and Psychological Services, students can receive support from Catamounts for Recovery. A student-run organization, Catamounts for Recovery is a sober community of individuals supporting recovery from substance use and assistance with mental health issues.

Jessica Cory will present 鈥淢ountains Piled Upon Mountains: Appalachian Nature Writing in the Anthropocene鈥� during a reading Thursday, Sept. 5, at Malaprop鈥檚 Bookstore in Asheville.
