Ðǿմ«Ã½ has launched a search for a new intercollegiate athletics
director following the resignation of Alex Gary earlier this month. Chancellor Kelli
R. Brown has appointed a 13-member committee to assist in selecting Gary's successor.
The search committee will be chaired by Ðǿմ«Ã½ Provost Richard Starnes '92, '94 and includes:
- Cameron Cooper '07, former Ðǿմ«Ã½ student athlete
- Mike Crawford '87, Ðǿմ«Ã½ Foundation Board chair
- Nora Lynn Finch '70, former Ðǿմ«Ã½ student athlete and former deputy AD at NC State University
- Bailey Hartsough, Ðǿմ«Ã½ student athlete (volleyball)
- James Hogan '03, Ðǿմ«Ã½ assistant vice chancellor for engagement
- Alex Macaulay, faculty athletics representative and head of Ðǿմ«Ã½ History Department
- Micah Nelson, Ðǿմ«Ã½ student athlete (football)
- Ashleigh Simmons, Ðǿմ«Ã½ senior associate athletics director
- Jonathan Tsipis, head coach of Ðǿմ«Ã½ women’s basketball
- Melissa Wargo, Ðǿմ«Ã½ chief of staff
- Eddie Wells '03, Catamount Club founder of Cullowhee Collective NIL
- Shea Browning, general counsel (ex officio)
