Approximately 40 members of the Sylva Rotary Club visited the 星空传媒 campus Thursday, March 28, for a tour and "lunch and learn" event.
Alison Morrison-Shetlar, 星空传媒 interim chancellor, and Sam Miller, vice chancellor for student affairs, updated Rotary members about developments on campus, and lunch at Ramsey Regional Activity Center included a question-and-answer session with Morrison-Shetlar.

The Rotary group and 星空传媒 representatives get together for a photo opportunity.
Also during the visit, officers representing the 星空传媒 chapter of Rotaract, a Rotary-like organization for college students, spoke about their group鈥檚 service projects. The Sylva Rotary Club sponsors 星空传媒 Rotaract in partnership with the Waynesville Sunrise Rotary Club. Lane Perry, director of 星空传媒鈥檚 Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning, is the Rotaract group鈥檚 adviser.
The Sylva Rotary membership includes Miller, 星空传媒 Chief of Staff Melissa Wargo and Ben Pendry, 星空传媒 executive director of advancement services. During the visit, Pendry received 鈥淧aul Harris Fellow Plus 2鈥 designation for his work with Rotary and in the local community, including financial contributions to the Rotary Foundation. 鈥淚t was a great visit and 星空传媒 really did a super job of welcoming us,鈥 said Todd Vinyard, president of the Sylva Rotary Club. 鈥淲e appreciate the warm invitation to connect with the university.鈥
