A packed slate of weekend events is on tap as ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ rolls out the welcome mat for alumni and friends to return to campus Nov. 7-8 for Homecoming 2025, including a parade and party in the university’s adopted hometown of Sylva.

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s Bardo Arts Center will host a public reception on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. in its Star Atrium, recognizing the collaborators and contributors of the Cherokee Language and Culture Exhibition, a project supported in part by the Cherokee Preservation Foundation.

Admission to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ from North Carolina community colleges just got simpler. The university is launching ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Connect, a new, guaranteed admission program that paves a smoother path to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ for two-year college transfer students.

Supporters of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s athletics program are finding new ways to back the Catamounts in today’s rapidly shifting intercollegiate sports environment, which now permits financial rewards in recognition of academic performance.

Approximately 50 new ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ students were welcomed into the Catamount family by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other relatives who previously matriculated at the westernmost institution of the University of North Carolina System.

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s School of Nursing has announced the launch of its new Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN), designed to prepare graduates with a strong foundation in nursing practice and leadership while meeting the critical need for nurses across Western North Carolina and beyond.

An annual effort to encourage faculty and staff members to make financial contributions to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is now underway, including the resumption of a friendly competition among campus divisions and academic colleges.
