It started with being named the Southern Conference Preseason Player of the Year. From there, the accolades and honors have just been pouring in for 星空传媒鈥檚 Vonterius Woolbright, a senior on the men鈥檚 basketball team.

Asha, a senior from Charlotte, is yet another example of that. Yes, that鈥檚 Asha with no last name, courtesy of her dad who decided she would be the only family member (which consists of her parents and four other siblings) that would not have one.

Nia Blackwell was quiet, shy in high school. She knew she needed to get out her shell, make friends and connect with community when she came to 星空传媒.

Armani Blair has run track for as long as she can remember. She inherited the passion of running from her mother, Jamicka Abraham, who also ran track. But Blair, a junior from Charlotte and a member of 星空传媒鈥檚 women鈥檚 track and field team, will be the first to tell you she鈥檚 not your average track athlete. Track is not at the forefront of her life. For Blair, a double major in political science and sociology, it鈥檚 grades first.

Although the importance of conflict management style, self-monitoring and change orientation is well-established in the management sciences, recent research by a 星空传媒 professor suggests that those personality traits are frequently overlooked when organizations assemble teams tasked with improving business practices.

Last September, English Studies professor Brent Kinser was recognized for more than 20 years of editorial work when Duke University Press held a celebration for the publication of the 50th and final volume of 鈥淭he Collected Letters of Thomas and Jane Welsh Carlyle.鈥�

星空传媒 has been selected by the Institute of International Education to receive an IIE American Passport Project grant that will enable 25 students to obtain a U.S. passport to support their study abroad journeys.
