Giving Societies
ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is making a difference in the lives of students and therefore, their impact on our world. The generosity of our donors and friends highlights the philanthropic spirit that drives our growth and propels our vision. To exemplify this reciprocity, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ has four Giving Societies—two for lifetime giving and two for annual giving. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ believes in the transformative power of building relationships, and we welcome you to join us.

Cullowhee Society
Donors or organizations with cumulative cash giving greater than or equal to $100,000. Emphasizing the transformative power of philanthropy and its role in propelling ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s vision to be a national model for learning and engagement.
1889 Club
Recognizing donors for annual gifts made to the Fund for ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, which supports scholarships, student programming, professional development, and our ongoing stewardship efforts. Named in honor of the year of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s establishment, this society embraces gifts ranging from $18.89 to $1889 a year.
Shetland Society
Recognizing ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Faculty and Staff donors at all levels. Named in honor of the two Shetland ponies and draft cart purchased by then Chancellor AC Reynolds in 1912 to haul supplies back and forth from Sylva to campus, this society celebrates the employees who work hard for ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and the University’s role in the greater community.
